ATC, RPM, and ADS-B……more acronyms anyone?

by James M. Blum, MD

When you fly commercially on an airliner, your are flying according to instrument flight rules (IFR). In this situation, air traffic control (ATC) is busy helping the pilot stay safe and make good decisions by constantly following the flight with a variety of technologies. This concept is being extended to medicine with the advent of remote patient monitoring (RPM). The video above provides more information about both ATC and RPM.
